Reliability & Maintainability Engineer – Everett, WA

We’re looking for an experienced Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineer to join a top-tier aerospace team in Everett, WA. This role supports the design, certification, and sustainment of commercial aircraft by applying advanced R&M engineering principles, modeling, and analysis techniques. The work directly impacts aircraft performance, lifecycle cost, and compliance with safety and airworthiness standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply statistical, probabilistic, and data-driven modeling and analysis.

  • Act as a technical lead, supporting design teams through the full aircraft development lifecycle.

  • Contribute to defining and validating technical performance metrics (TPMs) like schedule reliability, operational availability, and maintenance costs.

Areas of Focus:

  • Design for Reliability & Safety: Validate and verify system reliability requirements, perform FMEA/FMECA, fault propagation and detection analysis, safety assessments, and support reliability/certification testing.

  • Design for Maintainability: Analyze task times, assess maintainability using digital tools (VR/AR), and validate TPMs (e.g., maintenance costs, operational availability).

  • Collaborate closely with suppliers, internal engineering teams, program managers, and airline customers. Expect a balance of team collaboration, independent analysis, and project ownership.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Person (Citizen, Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee)

  • Bachelor’s degree (ABET or equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or Chemistry.

  • 8+ years in engineering

  • 5+ years in commercial aviation reliability engineering

  • Experience in systems design or analysis (Propulsion, Electrical, Hydraulics, Avionics, etc.)

  • Strong background in Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)

  • Proficient with CAFTA, ReliaSoft, or FaultTree+

  • Experience integrating FTA into aircraft certification

Preferred:

  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience

  • Background in technical leadership and project execution

  • Pay range: 60-100 $/per hour DOE
