About the Role

Our aerospace client is seeking Wire Design & Installation Engineers – Levels 3,4 & 5 to support factory operations across multiple locations. This role involves the development, integration, and maintenance of cable and wire harness designs, ensuring compliance with system requirements and optimizing installation for aircraft electrical systems. The selected candidate will collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, and production personnel to ensure seamless design and installation of electrical components.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs
  • Analyze design results and perform engineering reviews
  • Support electrical product design, including equipment racks, power panels, cable routing, and antennas
  • Provide engineering design dispositions for discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests)
  • Document processes, specifications, and procedures related to electrical commodities
  • Develop statements of work and participate in supplier capability reviews
  • Analyze functional and physical requirements to ensure an integrated electrical design

Required Skills & Experience

  • Level 3: 5+ years of experience in aircraft or avionics development programs
  • Level 4: 10+ years of experience in aircraft or avionics development programs
  • Level 5: 14+ years of experience in aircraft or avionics development programs
  • Experience with wire design tools such as Mentor Capital, MAPPER, WIRS, EDART, or equivalent avionics wire design systems
  • Familiarity with requirements management software (e.g., DOORS) and/or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to adjust priorities to meet multiple demands and unanticipated events
  • Experience providing engineering support for manufacturing and production teams

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience supporting supplier selection and technical capability reviews
  • Understanding of Model-Based Engineering (MBE) throughout the development lifecycle
  • Prior Boeing experience with electrical system design and installation
